About us…
We love the rural life and sharing our adventures as we try to figure out this homesteading lifestyle. My husband and I both work full time, but we spend our evenings, weekends, and even some vacations working on our property. We spent over 20 years in the suburbs raising our children in a wonderful community, but we always dreamed of owning some land. After looking for several years, we finally found our place. A few years ago we purchased some land and an old house (not old enough to be charming, just old enough to need major updating) and moved to a rural area in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. We love our community and the simple beauty of the rural life. We have worked tirelessly on projects such as putting in a garden and small orchard, building a deck, adding a workshop, and keeping on top of fire mitigation. I will share pictures and information on the projects we tackle outside, as well as indoor projects such as food preservation and recipes.
In my professional life, I am a Strategist for a local school district. I have a background in research and have taught critical reading/thinking classes at the university level. I only include this to say that I do my best to thoughtfully research and vet any information shared on this site.
